The Olympus DSS-5000iD records in DSS (Digital Speech Standard) format, developed primarily to meet dictation and transcription needs. Choose between two combinations of recording modes - short- and long-play - and recording sensitivity - Dictate or Conference - to suit your recording needs. The DS-5000iD's automatic voice activation keeps recordings free from empty gaps and saves recording capacity and time during transcription.  It allows for easy editing of existing recordings by appending, overwriting, inserting, and erasing or partial-erase of recording.  

Organising your recordings made easy

The Olympus DS-5000iD comes with DSS Player Pro Software, which is Windows and Apple Macintosh compatible. It supports encryption and decryption of dictation files and document files sent over the Internet.  The DS-5000iD recorder can categorically classify and store recording in any of the 7 different folders that can be programmed on the recorder. Each folder can store up to 200.

Fingerprint security built in

Keep your data safe and secure on the DS-5000iD with its biometric fingerprint lock function.  Up to 10 users’ IDs can be programmed on the recorder to support user environment where recorders are exchanged amongst professionals

The switches and controls on the Olympus DSS-5000iD are designed to withstand tough, daily use.  The transport controls are of the slide switch type - these are both logical and quiet in operation.

There are three programmable buttons which provide customised functions to suit your dictation needs. It has a low power consumption allowing for a long recording time. When the DS-5000iD is left unused and in stop mode for a set amount of time, it will automatically shut itself off.
