Unlike most screen readers, which require that the software is installed on a "per machine" basis, the PenVDA USB stick based reader can be carried around for use on any machine with a USB port: at university, at work, at a friend's house, and on a laptop.  This also alleviates the need to buy multiple licences, for example, when being used on a work-based desktop. home desktop and a notebook by the same user in the course of their employment.
