Ginger provides an automatic spelling and grammar checker, assisting people with learning difficulties such as dyslexia, or people who learn English as a Second Language (ESL), to improve their writing skills through intelligent, automatic context-based correction of grammar and spelling mistakes and misused words.

Ginger is an interactive piece of software and can display mistakes as you type (or you can process a whole document if that is your wish). Highlighted mistakes are flagged up colour coded red for review and blue for Ginger's alternative spellings and sample alternative expressions.
You can display personalised colours, fonts and spacing.
Ginger’s speech feedback (Premium version)
With Ginger Premium edition, you can hear the text you have written before and after correction (some mistakes may be easier to spot once you’ve heard them being read). Ginger also offers alternative spoken corrections and their definitions. You can adjust speed, volume and voice selection, etc.

Ginger Premium contains the same features as Ginger Standard (automatic correction of whole sentences containing mis-used words, severe spelling mistakes and and grammatical errors, with display controls) plus plus text to speech (TTS) and most common error reporting.
Once installed, Ginger works automatically within programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Internet Explorer 8. It requires only an internet connection to access the online database that powers the software. Simply download a small application onto your computer and receive the corrections via the internet.
